This London property is set to become Britain’s MOST EXPENSIVE home ever sold

Price tag? £280m

2 to 8a Rutland Gate in London could become Britain’s most expensive home ever to be sold if a £280m bid for the 45-bedroon mansion is accepted.

The home came on the market in 2012 after it owner Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, died. It’s been empty ever since and over 800 contents of the home, including lavish chandeliers and gilded tissue boxes, are to be auctioned this week.

Cedric Emmanuel of Swiss Group, the handlers of the sale, confirmed that a £280m bid for the home is “under consideration”.

Who’s going to buy the property?

The Independent has learnt that the property is being eyed by wealthy Saudi, Qatari and Russian investors.

What’s going to happen with the property?

According to local estate agents, the property may be split into apartments or four family homes.
